I am Mark Lopez, 30 years old, owner of cannonball bike house, based in the Davao City, Philippines. My fascination with bikes pushed me to explore the challenging world of business and the vast world of the internet.
I enjoyed biking so much I decided to put up this website to show not only my selection of various types of bikes to a bigger crowd but to also to showcase our biking adventures. Aside from using this website as a means to sell my bikes and bike parts, we also advocate the expansion of our biking organization “No Boundaries Biking Club” to invite more people to join in and promote biking as a form of exercise. Hence, not only do you stay fit but you can gain friends in as we bike at the countryside every Saturdays and Sundays.
It is amazing the kind of support the Davaeños have given cross country biking. Hence, www.cannonball.com was born. Cannonball has come along since it first opened and introduced its extra light heavy duty mountain bike in 2003 to the public. Because of that, we are now more determined in coordinating with the bike developers to produce more sophisticated mountain bikes to keep up with the bike lovers in Philippines. Cannonball also has a variety of specialized mountain bikes that caters the need of bike lovers in any type of bike and bike riding.
My uncle Nathan Pelaez is my business partner. He was 45 years old when we opened this business at Km. 5. McArthur Highway, Davao City. He was a former member of Philippine biking team, former chairman of Tour Pilipinas 1999, and chairman of Philippine team for Tour de France 2000. His love for bike and for country drove him to help aspiring bikers in different types of cross country biking.
Our company started hosting free biking clinic since 2004, and it has been helping hundreds of Davaoeños to learn the fundamentals and basic strategies on cross country bike race. My uncle Nathan himself is the trainer of that annual event.
Our goal of popularizing biking is to call the attention of those who are in power to put bike lanes in Davao City and effectively stop the threat of global warming.
